AutoCAD/Mechanical Drafter/Designer

Covert^TM Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our food processing and packaging engineering consulting team. Minimum Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a drafter/designer
• Expert in AutoCAD 2014 or newer, Plant 3D 2014 or newer, Autodesk Inventor 2014, Autodesk Factory Design, and Microsoft Office
• Generates layouts quickly and efficiently while being detail oriented
• Strong verbal/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a team based environment
• Responsible, accountable, and motivated with a desire to help wherever needed
• Occasional travel may be required

Primary Responsibilities

• AutoCAD piping designs, equipment layouts, P&ID’s, details, and schematic designs (including development of block flow diagrams) to meet client needs
• Drawings may include detailed equipment plans, equipment schedules, electrical & plumbing rough-in drawings, utility notes, and special conditions plans
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic project files for a diverse client base
• Assists in determining and implementing condition based design criteria
• Troubleshoot design challenges in a fast-paced environment

What we would LOVE you to have used or be familiar with the following:

• Practice in one or more of the following industries: food, dairy, distillery, winery, or brewery
• Experience with process design (CIP systems), powder handling design, equipment layout design, HVAC design, utility design in areas such as boiler systems, refrigeration systems, compressed air, plumbing, water, steam, etc.
• Experience in creating process P&ID’s for the food industry and/or piping P&ID’s
• Knowledge of design standards and what is needed to produce construction documentation
• Familiar with basic food processing equipment and features such as washdown, sanitary design, and inspection requirements
• Experience with Revit
• Familiarity with basic food processing regulations (GMP’s, FDA, USDA, 3A, SQF/BRC/ISO)
